THE ANNOUNCEMENT

   (The children have been gathered in the assembly room altogether.  Soldiers are at each door.  A soft female voice with a slight accent comes over the intercom.)

 

    "Attention ladies and gentlemen.  I have a few announcements to make before you are shown your dorms.

First, I would like to thank you all for volunteering to join the cause.  What cause, you ask?

A cause that will help you protect the world you live in and love.  To fight for the rights of many at the sacrifice of a few.  To put an end to the hatred and villainy that surrounds us all.

 

It will, in fact, be a tough and dangerous road, but the end will always justify the means.  I can assure you.  While here, your powers will be tested.  We need to know exactly what diamonds we have in the rough.  You will be trained on how to not only use your powers but also how to use them to their full potential.  You will also learn team exercises and learn to work together as one being made of many.

 

 

As far as the layout of the compound goes, there are boys and girls dormitories.   There will be no intermingling after 10 pm and infractions of this and the following will result in the appropriate discipline.

 

You each be assigned one room.  Now, because of past events, the rooms are specially equipt for each trainee's power and have a dampening agent so your powers can be used inside the room, but will not be able to leave the doorway.  The hallways are dampening as well, to avoid fights or what have you within them.  

 

There is a cafeteria as well as a recreational room.  We have all the luxuries including television and the internet, with the exception of certain websites.   Emails will be monitored as you are now part of an elite military and we would prefer the secrets not be released to the enemy by accident or otherwise.

 

There will be a chip placed in each one of you, but it will be a painless, scarless procedure.  It will simply be in order to monitor your location, should something happen.

 

Now, if any of you have decided at this time that you are not capable of this training, you will be allowed to exit at this time.  However, this will be your only chance.  The doors will remain open for three minutes.  Once they have closed, those remaining will be escorted to their rooms and allowed to rest and socialize as the chipping procedure will take place in the morning.
